My hair... bleached

My merdeka hair.. LOL!

Not too bad, eh? My mom wanted to bleach her hair as she did once not long ago by my sister Felishia who came back from LimKokWing London for a holiday.

She bought the Lauriel dark brown tone. My mom only used 1/3 of the bottle. So from putting it to waste, the whole family asked me if I wanna do it to hide my incrasingly obvious silver linings on my head... lol! So, okay, I agreed.

Luckily the result was not so obvious... but it did color my grey hair well.. hahaha.. The funny thing was that I only used another 1/3 of the bottle.. so the remainder of it was used by my dad! His white head turned orange! Macam grago mana je.. hahaha.. the next day he immediately asked Felishia to get the black tone. So that orange head lasted only for a day. Lol!

Merdeka

It's been about a year since my last post here. All these while I've been updating my other blog... "It's All Rayyan" dedicated to activities me and my wife do with our son, Rayyan. Click here to Rayyan's blog

Anyways, I'll be blogging here again. Still got lots of stuff on my mind to write about, now that I'm a home-based worker (loads of stories to ramble on that alone)... hahaha

Happy 50th Merdeka. What does 50 years of independence mean to you? I honestly dislike the idea of asking this question in the first place. It's too corny and the answers that most people provide always seem superficial.

Here's what I would answer...

hmmm... hmmm... errr... Regardless of the number of years of freedom Malaysia had, the only thing that concerns me is that the ability of Malaysians to think and act logically, fairly, maturely, intelligently and positively, so that all Malaysians are free to do all things that are deemed good to them while not harming others, and should be able to do that without the discrimination, hatred, or "frowned-upons".

We should not be pulled down, but pushed up. We should not be condemned, but encouraged. We should not be labeled Chinese, Indians, or Malays... but just people, human beings with their own set of belief system, and their own sets of traditions, cultures, and ways of doing things that all other human beings should respect.

If Malaysians can do these... I think it would be more meaningful to the celebration of independence where every single Malaysian would enjoy celebrating it with other Malaysians regardless of their background.

It doesn't take the number of Merdeka years to achieve these. Malaysians themselves have to realise that they would live better in their own country with greater tolerance of other Malaysians. 'Coz we have to realize that not all people think alike, and not all we think and do is right!

Happy 50th Merdeka everyone!

Think!

This is a poem that I wrote about 5 years ago. I submitted to Poetry.com and was one of those that was published in their coffee table book. It was written about the time when people were arguing about terrorism and how some people who selfly proclaimed the leader of the free world seemed to know everything to make judgments on who were the terrorists, instead of thinking why these things happened in the first place...

THINK!

Why did we do the things that we did
Why would we do the things that they would
Why are we doing the things we are doing
Why did they do the things that they did
Why would they do the things that we would
Why are they doing the things they are doing

Our rights can be their wrongs
Our wrongs can be their rights

We live better with people who think
who may or may not think alike
What if we feel the wrongs can't think
What would the world be like?

We would then be living in the right
and no one should ever be in the wrong
How then will we know if we are truly right
as our rights can be so wrong?

Respect others as they can think
Their thoughts are true judgment of ours

Learn. . . as we think. . .

Maju dan Sejahtera

That's the new Wilayah Persekutuan flag, and here's the lyrics to the Federal Territory official anthem.. it's mine ;-)

The song was actually launched by the Agong at Dataran Merdeka last Sunday..

Maju dan Sejahtera

Harmoni
Wilayah pertiwi
Semoga
Sentiasa diberkati

Wawasan
Hala pembangunan
Sebagai
Semangat perpaduan

Wilayah Persekutuan
Maju dan sejahtera...
Maju dan sejahtera...
